J. D. ROCKEFELLER TO BE AN ANGEL.
AT LEAST HIS CHARACTER WILL BE ANGELIC WHEN HE IS REINCARNATED, SAYS ANNIE BESANT, THEOSOPHIST.
By Telegraph to the Freeman.
Chicago. Ill., Sept. 12.—That John D. Rockefeller will be reborn an angel without any memory of trusts or dividends, is the prediction of Annie Besant, world president of the Theosophical Society, who is certain that when the oil king comes to earth the next time, he will be as perfect as it is possible for man to be.

"Reincarnation makes us look at a man in two ways. Take one of your rich men, say for instance, Mr. Rockefeller,” the Theosophical priestess. “In his next reincarnation he will return with all his good qualities, with everything that is good and true within him. He will be a perfect being, for he will be minus those qualities which have made him so brutal and so unjust.

"There are two ways to look at him. First, the physical man. He has gone, through life very unscrupulously. He has wrecked fortunes to make his own greater. He has made widows and orphans, paupers, criminals. He is cursed and criticized, and all of this because he has worked for self.

"But there is another way to look at a man of that character. He has developed an enormous mind. He has a wonderful grip on circumstances, and a wonderful will-power. To accomplish the things he has done, he must go through great labor and fatigue. If death was the end, he would indeed be an ugly product.

“But when the body dies, the mind lives on. His mind will keep on reasoning, and after the physical man is dead, he will realize what he really has done. He will find he did not use the methods which would make mankind happy. He will realize that where he built a desert, he could have planted a beautiful garden. And so when his mind comes back reincarnated it will be with all of the good and with none of the evil of his past incarnation."
